    Todd Academy is an early college middle and high, grades 5-12, that is unique in how it combines gifted, high-ability learning with early college accessibility. Work and study at Todd Academy, Inc. is designed to make it easy for students to excel in their areas of strength and to develop firm foundations in their areas of weakness. This is done by keeping the work level solid and making the work not just more of the same type of work but by creating work of a higher caliber.

    Todd Academy, Inc. students are on the college campus, in the college class room. Part of what makes this so unique is that IUPUI is considered a commuter campus and that means that each class has multiple levels of students. A typical class contains students from 18-65, we feel this allows the Todd Academy student to obtain a richer educational base. The diverse opinions, life experiences and goals within the classroom allow the student to be impacted by the potential options in their future. They get to see how great choices, poor choices, strong goals, weak goals, and life changing events can all impact their futures. It allows them to be in a close knit educational community and controlled learning environment and still to gain both challenging and high-quality education.

     We opened in 2002, as a home-school with the intention of utilizing the IUPUI SPAN program to educate two students. By the following spring, we had nine students. We opened the junior high, grades 6-8, now expanded to grades 5-8, in the fall of 2006 by renting the Sunday School class rooms at Unity Church. We have grown steadily since and moved our small school to a larger facility with the ability to grow and serve even more students in the spring of 2009. More changes were waiting as we incorporated as a non-profit and IRS designation 501 (c) (3).

    During this time of growth, no matter what a students financial ability to pay, Todd Academy has maintained that if a student wanted to attend Todd Academy, Inc. and met the academic requirements, we would find a way to make that happen. Todd Academy, Inc. has never turned away a student for financial reasons. This event, "Chips in for Excellence" a Monte Carlo style night of gaming and fund-raising, is designed to help fulfill that promise.
